An interesting collection of graphic short stories about death being a part of life. Most of the stories were good, but as with any short story collection a few were just okay, and some were downright weird!

Favorites:
Ghost Friend
Remember and Still Life (which both moved me to tears)
Herd (so beautiful in its subtlety)
Here Among the Chrysanthemums

Bonus points for the glow in the dark cover art, which I discovered after reading past my bedtime!

A moving and thoughtful collection of short graphic stories about life after death and those who are left behind to grieve. Some stood out to me more than others. For the most part, I wish the pieces had each been longer so the emotional impact could have been felt stronger, but I appreciated the diversity of voices and perspectives.

My favorites were Ghost Friend, Remember, The Spark Divine, Still Life, and Funeral in Foam.

"You Called to Me" tho. That raven made me tear up.

Everything else was hit or miss.

There are maybe two good stories in here. The rest are pure drivel of what people erroneously believe death to be. The best stories were the ones about the living moving on, not the psuedo-death in the pseudo-afterlife.

Some books fall into your lap at just the perfect time and this was one of them. I found this book at the library and checked it out shortly before my great grandmother passed away. Her passing has led me to question what's beyond life and it had almost evolved into an anxiety when I started reading this book. There were some really beautiful comics about the topic of death and the afterlife and they brought a kind of peace to my soul reading them. Like any anthology some of the comics were weaker, but overall this was an entertaining and much needed read for me.

DEATH AWAITS US ALL. MEMENTO MORI. Oof. That’s the theme of this graphic anthology. Naturally there’s some great work here and some terrible work here. It was a very uneven anthology. The standout to me was the Babylonian myth.
