Interesting story, but annoying narrator. I really disliked Vallejo's arrogance and constant fixation on how beautiful she is, how young she looks, how much she weighs and how every rich man wants to be with her. Some self-mockery would have been great.

How this woman wasn’t killed is beyond me. She constantly tells Escobar that he’s ugly and stupid. Like constantly goes on about how smart she is in comparison to him!

She tries to act like she’s all high and mighty but knows exactly how he’s made his fortune, knows he’s a murderer, is having an affair with a married man while saying how she’d never do that and keeps talking about his charity work like that makes everything better 😒🤦🏻‍♀️

I just couldn’t stand it anymore. I gave up. Kept waiting for something more to happen but it was just her going on about having the affair and all the people she met and how important she felt. That was kind of it. Wasn’t for me 🙃

I really enjoyed this book. I learned about Escobar in a Drug Wars of the America’s class in college, but nothing majorly in depth. I noticed some people had trouble stomaching the thought of this book and subsequent movie because they did not want to support something that glamorized a person who caused so much pain to the people of Colombia, so I was hesitant to read for the same reason, but I’m glad I read it. Is Virginia completely innocent? No. She grew to know and hate the bad side of Escobar, but their relationship was not as black and white as some people like to make it. It’s very unsettling the way the book stays with you. You do begin to feel empathy and heartache for Virginia and for the man Pablo might have been. That’s all I’ll say. She wrote a very compelling account of her time with Pablo and I would recommend the book to anyone who wants to know more about Escobar’s story than we get from what we see on TV or read in history books.

This should have been 150 pages shorter. If you’re really interested in the nitty gritty details of Pablo Escobar’s drug trafficking enterprise and important players and events, read this. Otherwise, skip it.

Its a book on how Virginia was making love with Pablo, How romantic and Caring pablo was to her, how he bought and living lavishly from Pablo's Money, and how Drug Lords such as Orjuelas brother wanted to be oj bed with her. Inshort he enjoyed narcos money. I like when an author is Honest regardless what public think or expected.
