Fabulous book. Full of visuals, detailed enough to make you feel as though you've toured the Titanic herself. There's also a great selection of passenger stories and a solid amount of history. I think it would be a fine place for a new researcher to start, but even someone who's read several books about the ship can get something out of this one. Nicely done.

Such amazing photographs and illustrations. I flipped through this book a bunch of times, after reading it, just so that I could keep looking at the pictures. There is a ton of information about the Titanic in this book, and it covers a wide range of topics - from the building of the ship to the legacy it has left behind.

If you read one book on the Titanic, make it this one. Beautiful illustrations--including diagrams of the ship's layout--and a multitude of photographs make the story come alive. Very readable, character-driven text. Would love to see an update of the book, covering new discoveries since 1997.
