It was fun and more thought provoking than Walter Tevis. I def think a lot about how empathy may be a constructed Western concept.

I just didn't like the audiobook but what can you do. Next time I'll read PKD manually LMAO

Really odd and I found the writing quite flat at times but it definitely had style and definitely had some ideas to present but I’m not entirely sure I know what they were. All together it felt like a nice complete story though and all the components come together to deliver a really interesting vision of a world that sounds terrible to live in but is fascinating to read about.

Super nice read, surprisingly very different from the movies. Smooth to read, interesting throughout the book.

This book is so nearly a timeless classic. The questions of identity, immigration, and reality are all there trying to burst forth, the issue is the author wrote this in the 60s and you can tell. The book is at its best when Deckard is a loser but there are moments where he becomes a stereotypical “cool guy” from the period and those moments undercut everything happening.
