Blade Runner

I remember liking Blade Runner but kinda being bored. This is so different from the movie I feel like it was based on one scene in the book. That being said I enjoyed the book but really just not something I expected. Parts were pretty goofy like buying a goat for it to get killed almost immediately. And I am glad that there were more layers to the book other than killing androids. A God-Complex and understanding empathy for non-human entities is explored in the book, although I don’t find the main character very likable, or very interesting. But the ideas conveyed through him piqued my interest especially near the end with the whole religious awakening. Overall, it was fun and had some cool ideas but it was also felt a little bit unorganized. I find it even more interesting how Ridley Scott interpreted this book to create his cyberpunk-y classic.

i feel as though this fundamentally changed how i view animals

I have no idea what to rate this book. It's just that weird, but I will say that it was a great choice for a read for my book club as it lead to a lot of fun discussions! So, if you like sci-fi and have a friend or two in the same boat, I recommend reading it as a group.

not groundbreaking and kind of all over the place, but still an entertaining read that i could visualize and presented some food for thought about human nature

A sci-fi classic worth reading. Not my favorite but still good. Asks what differentiates us from machines, if anything.
