This novel started out so promising. The quality of the writing is really superb. However, the characters lack any hint of joy, to the point of unbelievability. Selfish, privileged, miserable Brits. I finished the book simply because it was so short.

Esse livro não foi para mim. Não sei se foi a escrita muito densa ou se foi o meu desinteresse pelos personagens desse livro.
Já esperava que a história tivesse um tom mais "monótono", afinal é descrito o dia a dia da família Bradshaw durante 1 ano (se eu não estou enganada). Porém, achei que a narrativa em si foi muito "parada", e algumas vezes parecia não ter nem pé e nem cabeça, fazendo com que eu me sentisse entediada em algumas partes. Além de que, muitas vezes, não entendia algumas ações e pensamentos dos personagens.

I could not get "into" this book. Too many characters and I could not really relate to their angst.
