Very well researched and chronologically put together this book is centered around the Israeli-Arabs, who somehow were able to avoid expulsion and despite enormous pressures continued to live in their own lands, and documents the experiences of these Palestinian citizens living as an oppressed minority under the Israeli rule.

Beginning after the Nakbah, the imposition of military rule, leading to the Intifada and going on to the events that transpired in October 2000 that led to the second Intifada this book is an expert historian’s account.

The writing is extremely academic and scholarly and as such may not appeal much to the average reader however, if you can get past the writing this book is a goldmine of information on the injustices perpetrated upon the Palestinians throughout the history.

The book has detailed footnotes as well a comprehensive appendix adding to its appeal but also, quite a few grammatical errors that should have been weeded out by the editor.
