Full disclosure: I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

In Robert Lewis' world, the natural order has changed: the recent dead are no longer staying dead; they're resurrecting within moments of death. While some people are overjoyed to welcome the "Returned," as the resurrected are politely termed, other people view the formerly dead with suspicion--one of those suspicious souls being Robert's own wife, Caitlin.

One Sunday morning, the relative peace between Living and Dead is abruptly shattered: the Dead turn on the Living, and suddenly, Robert and the rest of the still-living humans are the trapped servants of their new Dead overlords.

But some time later, when Robert, now a cosmetic surgeon to the Dead, gets a pass to leave his confining compound to visit a Dead patient--Caitlin, long thought lost to a Dead attack--he finds not his former wife but a puzzling coded note. Lewis follows those instructions and learns of a new movement, a Resistance of Living and Dead alike against the world's new unnatural order...and finds himself unwilling protector of a secret that could save them all.

To say much more would spoil the plot! This is a good, solid read (despite the need for a bit of proofreading) and went too quickly for me! If you're looking for a typical zombie story, this is not it--the Dead, despite being walking corpses, have retained their humanity and intellect, and society has been restructured to suit them. These are not mindless brain-eating creatures who only exist to be fodder for some "hero" with an improbably large gun collection, and their humanity, their realness, is a welcome and long overdue change from the norm. I can firmly recommend this book to anyone who wants an apocalyptic survival story with a twist!

I received my copy of Deadside Revolution as an eBook from the publisher, in exchange for an honest review.

This was not what I expected, I expected zombies, what I got was hell on earth (both literal and figurative) and I was not disappointed. Started out slow but kept an exhilarating pace towards the end. It was a good read.
The world has ended, the dead are returning with souls from hell, and doctor Robert Lewis is maintaining the dead with cosmetic surgery, even if they are undead doesn’t mean that they stopped rotting. The living is either cattle or slaves for the undead.
Dr Lewis, finds himself possessing something that will end the reign of the forces of the undead on earth, the forces of evil does not stop him first.
