I don't know, some of the plot twists were a bit sketchy in this series.

Nine books later, and it's over. It's sad. But I'm satisfied.

(This book: TWD feel, sad sad sad, gritt, half an hour left - how will it end?? and when it was all over, the author's note with the interesting thoughts from Alex's mind. The perfect end touch.)

Actual rating 3.5 stars.

I found it slow in the beginning, but at the end I was really engaged with the story and I actually don't totally hate how the "it was aliens" narrative played out.

On a different note, it sure feels weird reading this book where the end of humanity is a viral plague and then we find out humanity is in a "quarantined" state

I read the first book in 2013.
I finished the last one today, 2020.

You would think a series that spanned 7 years and kept my interest to read them high would end in a near perfect, grand finale, an epic conclusion to a saga, a victory so big that it would be written in books, a satisfying end to something dear, a 21 gun salute but sadly it doesn't.

When I flipped the last page of the book, of the series I so wanted to squeak out a wow, a gasp of amazement but all I had was a puzzled "huh?".

Huh?
WTF.

What a disappointing and boring conclusion to a series that was packed with action and fun.
