I Can Read. Max the dog is sitting quietly by himself, but for some reason the narrator keeps talking about a cat. When the cat finally comes onto the page, Max is surprised. But then the narrator introduces a snake, and Max realizes he might be in danger! Can Max get to the end of the story peacefully? This is a great story that breaks the fourth wall as Max interacts with the narrator and saves himself from a snakebite and from being squashed by a hippo. Fun to read with simple text and cute animal illustrations.
