This was so good!
Once again, Katee Robert's writes interesting relationships with a tangled, interweaving plot underneath. Within the first two chapters, she had laid out such a tense and high-stakes plot that I was hooked.
Callie and Teague's relationship is wonderfully spicy but not as spicy as the lead-in to Carrigan and James little introduction (whew - now I can't wait for that sequel).
I loved the mafia/mob world created with the rivalry and tension it brings and then such strong and individualized characters making them all memorable. the setup for the next book with Carrigan and James was fantastic because already the tension for their enemies-to-lovers story is palpable.
Might like this more than her Dark Olympus series (and that's saying something)!

Earlier KR and it's just as messy as current day KR! Warring mafia families in Boston, lots of Irish/Catholic tropes and trauma, plus an arranged marriage-gone-south turned arranged marriage to instalove with the new groom. This isn't just Callie and Teague's story ... it sets up so much more of the O'Malley siblings plot lines (just don't count the siblings too closely).

Full Rating (out of 10 possible): 7.857 (based on a modified CAWPILE system)
Romance level (out of 5 possible): 3 (for on-page, intimacy scenes with some details)

3.5 stars - more plot than I was expecting but not complaining. It doesn't end of a cliffhanger but I did feel like the ending was a bit abrupt. My first mafia romance book and I really enjoyed it! Will def pick up the second one in the series.
