I picked this up because of a list of books loved by Donna Tartt. I was sucked in immediately and felt unsettled throughout. I wanted more from the ending but I also think that might be the point.

I liked this for the most part. The character of Marie Davenport started to wear on me after awhile, and I was done with her for the last 50 pages of the book. That lost it a star for me. I would have enjoyed it more if it was a little shorter. The ending was rather underwhelming after all the angst that came before it. It's too bad, as I usually enjoy Brian Moore much more than this.
