This was a very interesting read and I enjoyed it, I just think sometimes I don't quite get scifi the way I should, maybe coming back in a few years it will click with me because again it was a good read.

It is not a romance. I love the story but marketing the story as a romance sets up false expectations (which is in no way the authors fault I'm sure and I think probably speaks more to the publishers' lack of understanding of the novel).

The amount of representation in this though is fantastic. I've read 3 books (one series) with a plus size lead and this has probably been my favourite experience so far because the character is not treated differently because they're plus size.

this book is so unapologetically queer it makes my heart soar. it is so so lovely to see stories that treat trans and genderqueer folk like they belong—especially in scifi! and seeing so many leads of color was so heartwarming ughhh 💙💙💙
