I love Beverly Jenkins, that said, this unlike any Beverly Jenkins book I’ve ever read before cause it’s not historical fiction romance, more like thriller romance. Anyways consistent to her nature, this love story at the center of her drama was EPIC and of course made me yearn for my own Reese. Highly recommend this book for anyone that loves romance novels or Beverly Jenkins or just good African American realistic fiction.

Lawyer rescues stranded sports agent, falls for her and protects her from her jealous rival. First off, she is amazing - brilliant, independent and feminine in the best way. He's also a strong MC, smart, suave with integrity. The chemistry is sizzling, and the attraction and entertaining banter was written very well. They're a great example of a power couple, and he's really protective of her.

Their romance has a very sensual feel to it, and I really liked the way he courts her, it's so sweet and charming. And he really respects her independence and fierceness - in fact, it's a total turn on for him. She also shows her softer side to him and that was really endearing. I also liked that their initial conflict isn't dragged out for ages. His family is also a lot of fun. The suspense/action are great, it's a fun ride. And 😘 to their HEA!

I loved Reese's character...He had the perfect blend of machismo and sensitivity. And I loved JT's badass attitude and how she dealt with the self entitled athletes she represented! The suspense in the book was just enough not to deter from the romance... I loved this so much I want to give it six stars!!! I'm now a fan....I'll be buried in more Beverly Jenkins' books in the coming weeks...

4 stars. Love Beverly Jenkins. This woman can do no wrong. This was my first of her contemporary romances and it was wonderful. The characters are wonderful and feel real. J.T is a badass and I loved her. She's a sports agent and she takes absolutely no shit from no one. She has great character development and it was great seeing her let her guard down and fall in love with Reese. Speaking of Reese he was a hunk through and through. I loved his character. He's so smooth and suave and kind and I definitely swooned a lot because of him. Jenkins really knows how to write male characters that you just fall head over heels in love with.

This was wonderful and I'm excited to pick up more from her.
