This 10th anniversary issue of Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine wasn't my favourite, with only a few stories that really stood out for me. Lee Battersby's 'Comfort Ghost' was one, a strange little urban ghost story about letting go of grief; another was Lyn Battersby's 'The Blind Pig', a creepy little Prohibition-era fantasy. 'The Zombie Apocalypse is Thirsty Business' by Logan Albright fulfilled my requisite quota of quirky fantasy with a twist of doom, and 'Better Phones' by Grant Stone, about the hazards of trying to keep up with the crowd, had a memorable heart to it.

But while most of the rest of the collection were fine stories, few stayed with me and on the whole it felt uneven. ASIM 56 breaks from the usual format of a single editorial vision rotated from issue to issue; instead, each of the contributing editors put up a single story (with some nice commentary added on which they made their particular selection). The result is an anthology a little too eclectic to really hold my attention.

That said, none of the stories are bad. The advantage of a selection so wide-ranging is that there must be something for everyone.
