this was a great ending to the shadow children series. You finally get to see what happens to all of the character and how the country will react once the shadow children have come out of hiding.

I think the book focused too much on how scared Luke was to do anything. Make the point and move on and save 1/3 of the reading time.  Although I got tired of this, the book was one that I read in one sitting, to see how it ended. I really wish his friends had been in the book more —
if nothing else, just to see him make his speech. I thought it was out of character for them to not show up at the huge celebration.

Though I'm glad I finally read this series since I've been wanting to for so long, it was definitely drawn out way too long. This series could have easily been like 4 books instead of 7. Also I did enjoy the book and seeing the children become free but I hate that it had to happen in the last 15 pages - not even. The ending felt rushed and I wish there was some sort of epilogue where we got to see what happened with the government and the kids' futures especially Luke

I was a little disappointed with how the book ended. I was really hoping he wasn't going to jump on the stage with the horse..... and then he did. Just a little too much for me. Loved all the other books in the series but this one was just not mt favorite. Leaves you wondering a lot of things at the end....

I tore through it just to get to the ending because I realized i had never read the final installment. I think it was the most disappointing of the bunch. I was sad that Luke hadn’t really grown from his meekness in the first book. I also thought the ending was pretty lackluster. Very little resolution and very little hope for the humanity in that world lol

What a way to end this series! I have no idea where I was when this was coming out when I was growing up even though I'm a 90s baby haha. But I do have to say it was worth reading/listening to them now that I'm older and I can see how this would end in 7 books. Overall, great series, loved it and highly recommend it.
