When I first saw Alessandra Torre's work, it was the book "Tight" the story line didn't appeal to me and I came across this book last night, recently finishing Danika and Tristan's story I was very sad and this story plot seemed easy. Obviously I didn't pay attention to the tags and forgot to look but if I did I would have caught "Menage" and I would have been completely turned off but I'm glad I gave this book a chance. It was.. a different experience for sure.
First reading I was like hey this is some cute office romance
description
Then there was some sexual tension
description
THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I WAS LIKE WHAT THE FUCK
SpoilerBRAD JUST STARTS FUCKING SARAH/ALEXIS AND I WAS LIKE WHAT THE FUCK. JEALOUS BITCH I DONT UNDERSTAND WHATS GOING ON

Overall, it was a good experience and I'll continue the series and see how it goes from there. So far, it seems Alessandra Torre has a different approach with her writing and ideas and I like that.
3.5 STARS

This book was just OK for me...The cover is a real turn-off and although I understand why it was used, totally unnecessary. I felt that Julia's character was contradictory and very shallow. For such a "smart girl" that is an intern in a HUGE and well known law firm she sure is a pushover. Brad (the super-hot and older partner in the law firm) is a complete loser in every sense of the word. I guess either you like that character or you don't...in my case, I didn't.

I agree with some of the other ratings that the last 10% of the book was the best. If book 2 continues on that path than it will be MUCH better than book 1.

I admit, I bought this book for no other reason than the stare-at-me cover. It isn't a romance. Not in the traditional sense. If you aren't able to sympathize with the swinger lifestyle, if you hold tight to monogamous ideals, or if you consider yourself the jealous type, then you won't enjoy this book. To everyone else, don't pass this up. It's an intelligently-written sexy story with lots of law office drama. Even though Brad De LoveHimself is a self-absorbed, shallow prick with zero redeeming qualities, the female lead, Julia, more than makes up for his thoughtlessness. She's smart in the way she tackles problems and comes to decisions, and damn but I love her tolerance, her unapologetic curiosity, and her ability to recognize and forecast "boring". Without question, the sequel is an auto-buy.

All I can say is this was a hot read! I downloaded the sample yesterday afternoon and immediately purchased after reading it. I couldn't put it down. It was the first thing I picked up this morning. I cannot wait for the sequel to find out where he will take her next...

Idk. I'm not sure if I hate it or if I am just so fed up with sexy books as I've been reading NA previously for the past few days. I just—I did not get attached on the characters and the big reveal of Brad's weird fetish for sexual orgy. Also, this kinda felt like FSOG suddenly where the 'innocent' woman have to oblige in the man's weird sexual desire to be with him but god, I hope Brad doesn't like whips and chains.

I hope there is more to the story than them getting on it like bunnies.

Julia is a pre-law student just out of a two year engagement, starting an internship at a prestigious law firm where she is stuck with the slave driver of a boss. (I mean working 15 hours a day...what the shit?!). This boss however warns Julia to stay away from Brad De Luca. He is trouble. Well of course, this is only going to heighten Julia's interest.

Julia and Brad finally meet. Have an innocent pizza dinner at work. Where, Julia who appears to be Miss. Innocent on the outside, actually is an inner slut, confides to Brad that she's never had an orgasm. Umm... first off you just met the guy, you are at work, and you aren't even a couple or friends. I mean... who does that? Cock tease Julia that's who- who is a self-proclaimed tease as she likes to be in control of the situation).

Well based on this, Brad asks her to accompany him on a trip to Vegas. I mean no side agenda at all. *SPOILER* (and not at all a shocker) Brad givers Julia her very first orgasm. Then after that she boldly tells him 'I am not going to have sex with you' You wait Julia, you just wait.

Well Vegas happens, and then propositions happen, and the usual smutty stuff... (won't give away any spoilers)...

This book did a good job with setting up characters, getting to know them a bit more than just having steamy sex. Julia wasn't the prototypical virgin who was afraid to stand up and speak. She let Brad know what was bothering her, what her limits were. But she was also adventurous. Brad on the other hand, is the prototypical male in erotica. Rich and successful with control issues that make him not suitable for a monogamous relationship. He just loves sex way to much, poor baby.

I have to admit I was waiting for more smut.... which made me excited to read the next book right away because of what was alluded to with Brad not being able to be in a monogamous relationship without the allowance of threesomes/group sex.
