Curious. Started once, gave up for 4 months, started over again and finished within a week. It’s a lovely piece of fiction, but I’m not sure it’s as successful when it comes to discussions of art/beauty & the human experience of those things. If nothing else, it will be on my mind for a while.

Good hook in this book. I followed it all the way along. I liked the way time passed at differing paces never quite sure where you were.

So... I didn't really like it. Sorry (not sorry). It was kind of depressing in a bad way. I don't mind a sad book if it makes me go 'wow. This book moved me. This made me really reflect. I sympathize with this character. That made me cry.' It was the 'wow. well, that sucks' depressing. I find the main character boring, annoying, and selfish. I don't want to read a book where the main character doesn't get developed. Some supporting characters are awesome: Hobie, Boris, the guys from the old apartment. Too bad this book wasn't about Boris. Theo and the unnecessarily descriptive parts hinder this book from becoming truly spectacular. For the intriguing storyline and the ability to draw us to the supporting characters, three stars.
