I liked this book. I am always looking for good books about winter and this is one.
also I loved the themes of adventure, resourcefulness and family.
the boys loved the adventure and the route the boy took to get the groceries.

Fun to read about this epic event from when I was a newborn. Story is relatable, and illustrations evoke old-fashioned books from the era.
Illustrations are created with pencil, watercolor, and digital painting.

As someone born right after the Blizzard, I mean RIGHT AFTER, this is a fun book. (According to wiki there are two, the Great Lakes one in January and the New England one -which this book refers to- a week later. I'm familiar with the Great Lakes Blizzard) There is a fantastic fold out illustration that is very reminicent of a family circus cartoon. Great picture book addition.

I read this to 2nd grade with Novel Effects and they had been noisy, but settled down to hear this true story tale about the ‘78 blizzard. Awesome pictures too!

A great little book describing a blizzard in New England with a child who decides to venture outside to help his family, friends, and neighbors. Loved the map!

Rocco’s artwork is terrific. This story reminds me of all the times I’ve ever been snowed in and the world goes quiet.
