My only regret related to this book is that it's taken me so long to read it.

Dunn's story is spectacular: it's narrative perfection; I loved everything she did with Olympia's point of view; the characters, while inconceivable, are the most believable I've read in a while; the world she's created is visceral, both in the prose used to describe it and the feelings it evokes. I could not stop thinking about it between readings, and I'll surely read it again.

This book made me very uncomfy but I think that was the point. I liked the story overall but I did feel it was a bit rushed towards the end.

Wild ride, literally got no idea how I felt about this except that I have truly NEVER read a book with themes remotely similar. I took a big break in the middle of reading because I was going on a holiday where I wanted to relax and not think about voluntary bodily mutilation, and I think the break meant I forgot the first half of the plot and so found myself having to harken back as I was in the closing chapters.
I will say that the last maybe 30 pages were definitely the best bit and I'm glad I persevered because some juicy stuff happened in there.

Struggling to give it a star rating as I have no idea how I feel.

This was a good book. There was a lot of plot points and things happening and characters and it still seemed to drag a bit in parts. Chick was the most loveable character but I feel like there was no real reason for him to be there, except to make us hate Arturo more. Good, just not great.
