This book provided a glimpse into what our world could be. It is very hopeful. I really like how the different highlighted different of that future hypothetical world. They talked about trans people, children, caring for those who are sick, caring for those who are homeless, and first nations as well.

GREAT in concept, poorly done in execution. I was so excited to read this, but I had a lot of trouble being immersed in this story, leading me to question every little thing and the authors intention in including it. Overall found it hard to suspend my disbelief, which worked poorly with how utopian the society described was.

in short, there's a lot of attention paid to the social aspects of the new york commune but very little detail about the actual productive labor that sustains the society. an enjoyable read, but would've been a lot more exciting if it was rooted more strongly in reality.
