loved the concept, but the writing and interview format was a bit dry for me.

Sure, it’s not perfect, but it’s getting a 5 for its form and vision! Such a powerful invitation to imagine what comes next. When we’ve driven the planet and its people to their limits, and capitalism falls, who is there, how are they organized, what shape does social life take? Super kudos to the authors for their collaboration and creativity. A feat in general and certainly for critical sociologists’ foray into speculative fiction. A hopeful must read for those who are dreaming of a future in which we are all free, thriving, accountable…

incredibly well written and scratched the academic AND grassroots organizing part of my brain.

I think if my mother read this book she would spontaneously combust

Ahhhhh I love. I didn't want it to end...unlike me.

This did so many good things to my brain. Dooooo many worlds are possible, capitalism will falllll. Made me get thinking about all the possible alternative systems, big and small.

GO READ IT!!!

informative inspiring

If you can slog through some awkward and dry writing, these "oral histories" provide an informative model/vision for remaking a collectivist world build on the brutal collapse of global capitalism. The collective care enacted in this future was highly compelling. This speculative work helped me expand how I imagine 'what comes next?'

This was an interesting work of speculative fiction in oral history form about ‘life after the revolution’ from the perspective of twelve people of various ages, genders, and cultures.  As a person who would like to see a better and more egalitarian society, it was interesting to track my reactions to the massive change involved in such a momentous undertaking, a mix of hope, fear, nostalgia and curiosity.  It made me want to read more Fourier and also more books from the Common Notions press.  They have a subscription service which I found interesting.
