I simply could not put this down. Hicks hits very near home with her relateable tale of Jun, a young girl heading to boarding school on a scholarship. She creates relationships that are smart and realistic and encounters adversities that are quite common. With excellent illustrations to boot, this book was a must-read!

Faith Erin Hicks is one of my favorite creators. She recently published an updated edition of this book in color. I was happy to find the original while I wait for my library to purchase One Year at Ellsmere. This was very good! I'm looking forward to comparing it with the new one :)

This was really good! I know this book is getting some updates and will be reprinted in 2020 - so I definitely look forward to seeing those changes soon. Other than that, it was super cute - loved everything about it
