It's nice to see how the boys of Section 9 operate sans Major Kusanagi, although she is not entirely absent from these stories. Some of the art was disappointing, although the way Shirow draws Batou's facial expressions is always a delight. I forgot that Fuchikomas were in the manga; their presence brought needed levity to some rather bloody situations. Makes me want to rewatch both seasons of Stand Alone Complex (except I sadly don't own it!).

Hat für mich etwas besser funktioniert als der eigentliche Manga. Der Plot war besser nachzuvollziehen und zwischenzeitlich kam sogar sowas wie Atmosphäre auf.
Dass ich die (auch hier wieder leicht seltsamen) Fußnoten dieses mal besser ignorieren konnte hat sicherlich auch geholfen.

I loved the original Ghost in the Shell graphic novel, but I just could NOT get into this at all.

As visually interesting and densely storied as Ghost in the Shell, but later Shirow's works' incoherence and excessive reliance on technology over actual plot show through as well.
If you liked Man-Machine Complex, you should enjoy this too.

Wow, once again Shirow manages to deliver a cool story in cyberpunk Japan with exciting plots, technology, and Shirow's comments. I love how his comments create a very personal link with the author during reading the manga. Scenes are filled with a ton of details, but they still maintain clarity. The only scenes I was lost in were those where something happened fast, so I like to think of it that it simulates the reality of the scene.

Opět musím pochválit CREW za přinesení dalších příběhů ze světa Ghost in the Shell. Zápletky, kresba a skvělé komentáře od Shirowa zase dělají mangu dílem vhodného k přečtení. Kdyby někoho cyberpunk nezajímal, potom stojí za to si alespoň prohlédnout Shirowův jedinečný styl spojení se čtenářem, kdy jej vtahuje pomocí svých poznámek pod čarou nebo malými detaily a děním ve scénách činí mangu živou jako reálnou či alespoň filmovou scénu.

As seem to be common practice for Ghost in the Shell this volume is familiar because of it influence on other versions of Ghost in the Shell. However it is also alittle confusing to fallow the diffrent story lines and how they interconnect. Also you don't get alot of the Major only one apperance in one story line. But I love Batou and enjoied those other characters interactions and interplay.

The first time I heard of ghost in the shell was the movie version with Scarlett Johansson. I loved it. So when I saw this in the library I had to read it. My first Manga! It was fun but hard to read because the font was so small.

Much closer to the first GiTS than the abysmal second one, nice technical drawings, interesting futuristic concepts. Almost no Major here, it's all Batou, Togusa and the rest of the crew battling through a few peripheral cases of similar style but smaller scope than the original story.
