A strong anthology that covers the many facets of modern ghost stories from folklore style to gore and everything in between. As with any collection that showcases a variety of voices there are stories I loved and others not to my taste. The standouts for me were: Jonathan Carroll’s Mr Fiddlehead - deliciously understated creepiness that sent a shiver down my spine; Adam Nevill’s Where Angels Come In - such a unique voice that drew me in from the opening line; and Elizabeth Hand’s The Have Nots, with its gossipy, every-day narrator’s voice that made the fantastical seem all the more true.

This one's more packed with gems than a lot of short-story compilations I've read. Just a few in there that are not so shiny. Definitely recommend for some short fun scares.
