Top 10 grossest book I've ever read in my life. It made me want to vomit and was so sick and twisted. But I found it incredibly interesting because of how messed up it was.

Well that was intense. I usually am a sucker for world-building, but the absence of it here makes Last Days an extraordinarily claustrophobic and exhilarating work of fiction. The scariest aspect of this book is that the cult depicted in it may seem a bit implausible at first, but when you think about it... there are worse groups in the real world. Aside from its overly bleak tone, Last Days has perfect pacing, nut-jobs for characters, and an apt ending.

This may be my current favorite all around novel. There are so many things at play here that are just so unavoidably interesting and curious. I wouldn't say you go through the same descent as the main character because that's reductive of that the book is doing in general, but it's hard not to notice yourself carrying the same sort of nonchalance for the increasingly brutal ongoings, it's hard not to be transfixed frankly and there's much to think about.

look this is a 2 for me but it might not be for you if you like to read this type of fiction. I was intrigued by the premise and hoped it would be a tense and exciting game of cat and mouse. But, in all honesty, I checked out after the
strip tease
scene and was left with the overall impression that it's a book that relies more on its graphic description of mutilation and horror to evoke an emotional response from readers, instead of its plot and characters.
