This was like a roller coaster ride through a house of mirrors, if the mirrors were actually portals to a twisted dimension. This novella expertly dances on the tightrope between reality and demented delusion. The story starts with a gentle nudge into the realm of twisted fantasy and inner demons, so subtle and enchanting that you’re lured in without realizing. But beware, this is no fairy tale. The deeper you delve, the more the story grips you - like a polite monster that suddenly decides to show its true, terrifying colors. It’s an experience that makes your throat tight and your stomach churn, yet you can’t help but turn the page. Picking this book off a random shelf in a horror-centric bookshop, I didn’t expect to be taken on such a short, sweet, and sinfully sickening journey. It’s a little gem of madness that makes you grateful for your mundane reality.

The writing style and author choices stylistically are beautiful and I devoured this book whole. Did have a confusing ending and left me feeling tense but was a great little horror option.
