4 of 5 stars!

OMG! This books is so freaking lit! I haven't studied Macro economics by Gregory Mankiw as fun as this books! This books gives brief explanation about Money, Economics and also Capitalism. I just love how Yuval Noah Harari giving some historical fact to support his explanation. Seriously after this i am rethinking to buy another his works such as [b:Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind|23692271|Sapiens A Brief History of Humankind|Yuval Noah Harari|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1420585954s/23692271.jpg|18962767] and [b:Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow|31138556|Homo Deus A Brief History of Tomorrow|Yuval Noah Harari|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1468760805s/31138556.jpg|45087110]!

An indifferent discussion if currency ending with rampant fear mongering on a topic I doubt the author understands. Read anything else.

"In exchange for such devoted counselling services, we will just have to give up the idea that humans are individuals, and that each human has a free will determining what's good, what's beautiful and what is the meaning of life."

This book feels like an abridged version of Sapiens and Homo Deus. In a sense, you get a summary of Harari's thinking with the topic of money as starting point.

I really felt a clear divide between his remarks on the past and his predictions about the future. In
my opinion, Harari applies the same logical devices to remarkably different time scales. This results in analysis that feel spot on about the past and way too generalist or simplified about the future.
To me the most enjoyable part was the comments on the intermingling between capitalism and politics. I wish he had followed that approach towards the latter part of the book, but I guess that is not as simple to do without access to privileged information about today's global affairs.
