I wanted to love this book. I was really looking forward to reading it but it fell flat. It had so much potential but there were so many plot holes that it just left me confused on how certain things came to be. There was no clear indicator (at least in the audio book) on what was the past and present because it just flashed back and forth without warning within minutes, leaving me consistently saying “huh?!” and rewinding to try to figure out what was happening.

This book was so good! I always feel weird trying to describe these books when they are dark, taboo romances because they are subjects that, if they were happening in real life, I wouldn't like or support, but in a book and seeing it laid out like this story, I couldn't get enough. In this one, we have a relationship between foster siblings. We have the motorcycle club angle. Then we have murder and a mystery. It was just so intense, and I really wish there were other books that followed other characters in this world because there was just so much. I need to read more books by Jones.

2024 Reread

So, this was a reread for me, and I wanted to reread it because I recently got a physical copy. I'm going to a book signing in March where Amo Jones will be, and I hope to get it signed. It's been over a year since I initially read this one. Anyway, this one is still so dark and definitely not for everyone, and the way it ends, I really wish there were more books about either the motorcycle club or even the organization that Jade ends up working with. There is a second book loosely related to this one, but it's more about a connected world in Wicked. Anyways Sicko is a very dark book and follows weighty themes. You really need to check content warnings before picking it up.

This book is a fucked up level of dark, but it’s so entertaining.
I’m giving it four just because Amo has the balls to be as dark and twisted as you can think in terms of romance.

Kind of far fetched but that’s what makes it addictive and hard to put down.
