This was a strangely fascinating book. I disliked pretty much everyone in this story, except for Jarresh. Orziel wasn't very likable, either. But I didn't want to stop reading. So I read on, feeling anxious, uncomfortable, painful, appalled, and sometimes amused ... and reached the ending, which I liked a lot more. I guess I got used to Orziel by then. If there's a followup of this book, I'll likely buy that and read it, too. Though, I'll probably have a pretty mixed reaction to that as well.
