On Broken Wings is the final book in the Wild Aces series and one I was eager to read. I've mentioned before that Easy wasn't initially my favourite person, so getting to see his point of view and hear his story was something I have been looking forward to, and honestly have to say I misjudged him in a very big way.

Easy still has feelings for Dani and he took himself away to try to get over her, without success. But he's back on base for a few weeks before deployment and is trying to do what's right for her, even if it means being happy for an upcoming date she is going on....

What did I know? Women were probably into doctors. They made good money, and saved lives, and shit.

Dani is struggling with everything, even a year later. The idea of redecorating the nursery to sell the house brings her to a standstill in the shops, with tears threatening to fall. Having to go on with life after having her dreams and future shattered is not something she thought she would ever have to do and she is finding it really hard. Luckily Easy offers help in getting things sorted for her and making life a bit more easier.

On Broken Wings was a book that took me on an emotional ride I didn't expect. I knew going into this there would be tears, just from the history between the couple, but I wasn't prepared for the flood. We get the guilt from Easy over having feelings for his dead friends widow, then we get the guilt and the sadness from Dani over her feelings for Easy, mixed in with flashbacks and what could have beens.

On Broken Wings was a book I read quite quickly. I needed to know what would happen after each new surprise. With everything that goes on within the pages of this book I quickly became invested in the outcomes of the characters, I really wanted this to end how I imagined it would in my head.
Another thing about this series I like is that we get to catch up with the rest of the group, seeing what they are up to now and how they are getting on, not only in thier relationships with each other but also thier future plans.

Final Verdict
On Broken Wings has to be my favourite book out of them all for many reasons, but mostly for the feelings, the progression of the story as a whole, one that started in Fly With Me, and also how it changed my ideals and feelings towards Easy.

I have been dying to get my hands on Easy's story since I started this series from Chanel Cleeton! I absolutely loved him and could see so much more beneath the surface when it came to his character. On Broken Wings was everything that I had been hoping for and more. I never wanted it to end, and I absolutely love this world that Chanel has created.

Easy has always accepted the fact that he would have to love Dani from afar. As the wife of one of his best friends, he knew that friendship was all he would ever get and he was fine with that as long as it meant Dani was in his life. But after Joker was killed, Easy was determined more than ever to be there for Dani in any way that she needed him. As the two grow even closer, his love for her grew stronger. Dani had never seen Easy as anything more than a close friend, but in the year since she lost her husband, she started to see him as she never had before. But can they let go of the past and the guilt they feel to have a chance at a future together?

My heart really hurt for both Dani and Easy. They had been through so much and each felt it so deeply. They really struggled with their feelings for each other and what that meant for not only their remaining connection to Joker, but also for their future. I loved that they had such a strong friendship and that their connection was so natural. These two just fit together and their relationship was independent of that which Dani had before with Joker. She was able to love and be loved by two amazing men, and no one deserved it more than she did. Easy was more that what you first see, and his love for Dani was unlike any I have seen before. It was unconditional and unwavering, and he is the kind of guy that every girl dreams of one day finding. Dani was sweet and kind, and so very strong. She is the kind of girl that you would love to be friends with in real life, and I just couldn't get enough of them.

Overall, it is so hard to pick a favorite book from this series as they are all fantastic, but On Broken Wings just might be my favorite. It was emotional and sexy, and everything and more that I had been waiting for. Easy and Dani are one of my all time favorite couples, and this series is one that is not to be missed! If you haven't read the previous books, this one can stand alone, but I highly recommend starting this amazing series at the beginning so as not to miss a single bit of it.

The audiobook was just okay but the idea to listen to one while making 100+ PTA ornaments, wrapping presents, and writing cards was wonderful. I’ll make sure to better plan this out next year!

oh my gosh the way Cleeton made me WORRY about Easy and Dani. HOW would she pull off this widow romance??? WITH APLOMB ACTUALLY.

I love when he's been pining for ages and is so damn noble, and finally she gets a clue and is like, hey, it is okay to love me. The time/distance the author gave for these two was also important, and I'm glad they got their HEA.

I'll try to write a more coherent review sometime.

Dear Lord! I just loved Easy and Dani's story. Easy wore his love for Dani on his sleeve and made it hard to not want to scream at Dani to open her eyes. Such a great end to this series. ❤️❤️❤️

Bought this on a whim after taking a quiz PRH posted on Twitter. The quiz said I’d probably enjoy it. I did. A lot. It hit a lot of my buttons even if it was predictable st times.

Oh my gosh, this was so very good. Slow burn but absolutely fantastic, swoon-worthy romance.

It was fine... but she needed therapy and the star of the show was definitely Easy/ Alex.
