I read two of Tayari Jones’s short stories for free in Audible, “Half Light” and “Dispossession”. Both were really good but really different types of stories. I think that’s one of her most interesting things. For me, all of her stories and books are good, they are written in similar styles and voices but none of them are really alike, but you can see and feel her throughout. Anyways, I liked this book about a pair of twin sisters healing old wounds and having a mini adventure. It’s narrated by Bahni Turpin, who never misses.

This was a borrow under Audible’s new Audible Plus feature and I love Bahni Turpin’s narrations, so I was in!

This is my first experience with Tayari Jones’ writing and I’m definitely impressed. Jones crafts an endearing tale of two sisters who are different yet so clearly of the same heart. What I loved about this is that it’s so real. The history (and the present) contain heartache, laughs, love, and hope. Human. With the added twist of the unique relationship of not only sisters, but identical twins.

Reviews for shorts that I love are hard – because I want to gush without giving it all away. I’ll definitely be listening to more of Tayari Jones in the future.

This is everything I expect and love from Bahni Turpin’s narrations. She gives unique voices and emotions to all the characters. She’s a treat to listen to.

I heard about this Audible Original ages ago but am only just now getting around to listening to it. This is also my first time listening to an audiobook by [a:Bahni Turpin|2177387|Bahni Turpin|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1327006614p2/2177387.jpg] and am sure it won't be my last. The story centers around twin sisters Cam(elia) and (Ame)Lia's attempts to reclaim a family heirloom from Lia's now-former husband. The story flows between past and present, as the reader learns more about how Lia's ex-husband has ended up with this precious heirloom and the twins' relationship. A lot is packed into this slim package and will leave you thinking after the story ends.

This novella by the eminent Tayari Jones was free to me through the Audible Plus program. I started listening when I woke around 2 AM last night — and then was wide awake for the full hour and 20 minutes of the audio (and well beyond). It's a sweet story and the narration is superb. Just what I needed. I've loved everything I've read by this author.

The title seems a little obscure to me — not sure what it refers to.

I wish it were longer. As an identical twin myself, I wanted more.
