At times the tone is right on with the show, at others it feels different. Greg always gets the best lines.

Oh, I quite liked this!
Delightfully creepy and eerie, with the old timey vibe that I love so much about OTGW. The art style was fun (even if Wirt's ears were drawn kinda weird), with lots of sprawling two page spreads and a very satured and beautiful color palette. The story was cool and just a tad bit creepy, and I loved the themes of brotherhood, of Wirt's insecurities and him learning and growing into taking care of Greg (Wirt going along with Greg's talks of the frog queen was very cute!).
Some motivations were a bit iffy, and I don't think the explanation about the hollow people was done quite clearly, but still a very good story overall.
(Also, Celia Lowenthal's art in the end covers was so pretty! I wish it was used for the main cover)

This could have been an episode of the TV show.
It's weird and creepy until it gets straight up scary, almost not meant for children at times. I loved the ominous nature of the woods and how close things came to really breaking bad before the boys pulled back from actual, life threatening danger.
A good comic whether you're a fan of the series or not.

Spooky premise, excellent art, Hollow Town is the best Over the Garden Wall comic I've read yet! Give Lowenthal & Monlongo a million cookies! 10/10 for the creeps & feelings too!
