This novel is very different from other books by the same author. It’s much more of a slow burn, and it’s less action-packed. 
I loved the imagery and found it very eery the whole time.

Really enjoyed A Flicker in the Dark and All the Dangerous Things. Expected to like this one as much, but it disappointed. It felt amateur compared to the other two.

I enjoyed Stacy's books before this one so I was really looking forward to this book. It's completely different than the previous two she has published. I found it waffling between slow and medium-paced; though towards the end, I couldn't put it down. It reads a little more YA than I was expecting.
