Chase (h) works in her gardens to support the cadre of orphans she's taken in and finds her release by talking to the stone gargoyle, Levias/'Stan' (H) that resides in the garden. Levias has been trapped in his stone shell, unable to move, until Chase, beaten and threatened by criminals her brother is indebted to needs him to save her. Once he's unleashed, Levias exists for his mate, Chase, and will kill anyone he deems to be a threat to her. As brutal as Levias may be, Chase finds herself falling for her stone-hearted protector, though she has a hard time accepting some of his actions. Lovely dark gargoyle romance with plenty of hot and steamy action.
