I really enjoyed reading The Ruba'iyat.Beautifully written and translated, I am now reading the Arabic translation by Ahmed Ataab, It sounds so beautiful in Arabic, if only i can read it in its original text.

Having read the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyàm in Arabic and French, I was looking forward to sinking my teeth into the famous translation of Edward FitzGerarld (First edition) and I was not let down. The purity of the translated quatrains is astonishing. Even though the translation was not 100% faithful to the original (I don't think it can possibly be, anyway), I thought the "adjustments" were very interesting. I consider this to be a 'reproduction', or "the work of a poet inspired by another poet" (Charles Eliot Norton).
