I really liked Haunting Violet, but it's been a while since I read it. This story felt pretty forgettable on its own, although I would like it as the first in a book of short stories about Violet facing different ghosts.

A short little follow up to Haunting Violet in which we find that Violet's affinity for seeing the dead has left her. Now living with Lord Jasper, she feels like she's failing him. After all, he did take her in in part to teach her to control her gift. But how can he teach her if there is no gift?
There's really nothing new brought to life here but it was nice to see Violet in a safe household surrounded by supportive people. Her relationship with Colin is stronger and she's even found a sort of friendship with Tabitha.
I wonder if Harvey has any plans for more set in this world. Because I would really love to see Violet have a run in with her mother now that she has a good life - one without her mother.

More of our darlings! I'm so glad this got put out, since I know there was a lot of begging for a new book but it not sound like the author or agent were all that much looking into it. I'm loving how this new wave of novella's makes something like this possible. Another short, small tale handed out to the masses, but without needing to plot and consider a whole book for the process.
I loved it, of course. Violet and Jasper and Colin, and the newest round of ghosts, twists and turns. A delightful, if fast, read.

I bought this for 99ยข on my nook. I thought it was supposed to be about 76 pages. Its actually about 37. Its way too short and it leaves you with the reaction "wth"? I mean there really wasn't much of a story here. The last 39 or whatever pages were all excerpts from the author's other books. I really liked Haunting Violet and was eager to see what happened next and I'm really disappointed. This could have developed into so much more but I guess you'll never know.
My advice: do not waste your money buying this for your e-readers.

After having liked [b:Haunting Violet|8685644|Haunting Violet|Alyxandra Harvey|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1312074996s/8685644.jpg|13557923], I downloaded this novella and, while it wasn't bad, it was too short and the end came too quickly. The plot twist was nice, but it just came too soon.
I wish Ms. Harvey would write another full-length novel about Violet!
