"Illustrious and unknown / is what we should wish for ourselves,
Fading the way this landscape fades
Into its anonymity / and various selves,
So undefinable, so dumb."

"We are our final vocabulary, / and how we use it.

There is no secret contingency.
There's only the rearrangement, the redescription
Of little and mortal things."
