Evie and X did not deserve that ending in the end although I do get the message that the author was trying to convey: it is the process that matters, not the ending.

- ganska klyschig
- inte särskilt mycket handling eftersom att den är ganska kort, hade gärna haft mer detaljer
- men den va mysig och lite rolig

Where was the conflict? There were a few different issues that came up in the book that weren't followed up on in satisfying ways. Evie starts seeing visions of relationships but this isn't discussed for large sections of the text, and she gets out of dealing with it by closing her eyes, so the stakes don't feel particularly high and she doesn't really grapple with her new power in a meaningful way. Beyond that, her relationship breaks down with her friends, and she deals with feeling abandoned by her father, and both issues are largely resolved in a single conversation. This was a sweet concept but I was mostly just bored. The ending had potential to be interesting, but considering the rest of the text it felt pretty shallow.

I thought people were KIDDING about how this book made them cry. I really was thinking, "IDK, nothing about this sounds THAT SAD."

DON'T BE DUMB LIKE ME!

Instructions for Dancing is Nicola Yoon's masterpiece. I loved Everything, Everything to death, and I didn't think this book would top that. I was SO WRONG. Right from the start, Evie's voice is so strong and captivating. She draws you into her story with her anger and despair, emotions complicated by her newfound power to see the timeline of anyone's relationship if they kiss. And her new feelings for X, the boy she's suddenly dance partners with, only make things harder.

This book is magnificent. Every page flew by, and I can't believe I read it all in one day! I wasn't sure I wanted to read this beforehand, but now I'm so glad I did and I hope I can convince you to read it, too.
