I wanted to like this duology a bit more than it actually deserves. The best part is the female physician storyline, which I found both interesting and motivational. I did also quite enjoy the evil immortals trying to influence world powers behind the scenes. But the chemistry between Hazel and Jack was now very flat, so it fell short as a romance for me. The opening scenes of her in prison seem oddly disconnected from the rest of the novel, and the ending was out of character from what Hazel has been and done for the whole two books. So in the end I’m only rating it a middling 3-stars.

it just wasn't good!! very disappointed compared to the first one, it was at times ridiculous honestly. this author needs to learn how to wrap up a book correctly because this was so pointless
