A fabulous mix of horror and fairytale style writing. It truly had me convinced at multiple points that the stories were real grimms fairytales!!!

Not for me. Most of the endings were bittersweet or bitter, and the ones that weren't were remniscient of a brand of feminism I don't care for.
The art and design team did an incredible job, though, and they're most of the reason I picked this book up. They deserve every penny and more for their work!

If you loved "The Hazelwood" then you'll love these fairy tales from the book.

The book described in the Hazel Wood series. So if you liked the series you'll like them here. If you didn't or haven't read it, probably don't read this.... unless you really like dark twisted short fairytales with no happy endings.

Melissa Albert delivers a delightfully twisted collection of tales and fables that inspired her chilling series.  Prepare to be unsettled – these are not your childhood fairy tales, but rather dark and empowering stories perfect for a mature audience.
