I wasn't sure what to expect from this series - I loved both the new Young Avengers (2014/15) series, as well as the 2004/5 run, so I wanted to try and carry on in the right order this time!

It was nice to have each of the YA get their own story - some of them were better than others (like Kate's, Billy and Tommy's and Teddy's) and others weren't quite as good (Eli's, Cassie's and Visions) but overall they were fun little extras into the story, and I liked them as a whole!

The Young Avengers facing some issues with their identity and their purpose for being superheroes. It's nice to see some depth dor these young characters.

I really loved the Teddy, Billy & Tommy and Kate stories here. The Eli story was pretty good but I did not enjoy the Vision or Cassie stories. The definition added to Kate and Eli here was really great to see and I love how this collection set up Children's Crusade.

I really love the Young Avengers. They're smart, funny, and they have backstories that are very approachable. This collection is essentially a book of one-shots, which sometimes work well together and sometimes don't. I liked the character sketch aspects and how several characters are still dealing with the revelations from the previous installments. However, I wanted more of a clear connection between stories. As someone who loves characters, I really enjoyed this, but I can see plot-driven fans finding it lacking.

For: fans of superheroes/comics; readers wanting an original storyline that they can keep up with; readers wanting younger heroes to follow (they're from 14-16 here).

Possible red flags: characters in peril; violence; language; blood; issues with dealing with true parentage; thievery and stealing; references to experimentation/imprisonment; brief domestic violence.
