this one was even a bit more rough than the first one, but there was some more time with some of the side characters which I loved. looking forward to the next book, because it’s one I remember a lot from my younger years

The second book in the series took a little bit longer to get into than the first book, but I still enjoyed the journey and felt the characters grow deeper as the book progressed.

(4.5) Although I enjoyed the backstory we got on Charlie’s family, mainly his uncle, I throughly enjoyed the insight we got into why Ezekiel, Headmaster Bloor, and Manfred want to keep an eye on Charlie and want to get him on their side.

It was really good with really relatable characters and humour and a really believable setting and some really worrying plot twists and basically all the stuff you should have in a really good book.

Love this book so much. I might have grown up a bit since I first read them, but I don't love them any less.
