After spending time in India, I find it impossible not to be drawn to books set there. This book made me want to weep and I found the characters to be sympathetic and compelling, but I was far too invested in two of the characters' stories and viewpoints and not Sunny's. I also felt a bit confused by the end - maybe I just need to re-read it, but the last few pages felt ambiguous at best. That being said, I'm still out here recommending it! 3.5/5
