icked up this book as part of the OwlCrate Readathon to fulfill the challenge "A new-to-you author," and unfortunately it just wasnt for me. I went in expecting a fae inspired fantasy novel, but in my opinion this book reads more like a contemporary paranormal romance, which is just not my jam. I also really didnt like any of the main characters, especially Hazel. This book also unfortunately hit on some pet peeves of mine.
1. Distant/oblivious parents/guardians who let their children run wild because they're just not paying attention because if they WERE there would be no plot.
2. Namedropping real world companies like Apple, Starbucks, etc. I find it really jarring and it completely pulls me out of the story.
3. Main characters who normally talk and communicate well suddenly not talking to each other because plots gotta plot
