Released is the third and final installment in the Caged series by Shay Savage. This is the conclusion to Liam and Tria's story, and picks up after the second book. These need to be read in order, so if you haven't read the previous two books you will want to start there. Even though I have enjoyed parts of these stories, I have also had some issues over the course of all three books. Once I had started though, I had to see it through to see how things would end.

After the events of Trapped, Liam is left with nothing. He knows he screwed up by yelling at Tria and scaring her, but he sinks further with everything that happens to him. Now he is left alone, with no job and no place to live. He wants nothing more than to get Tria back, but is he willing to make the changes he needs to in order to prove to her that he is worth another shot?

I have liked Liam more than Tria since the beginning of this series. Part of that is that I feel more connected to him than I do with Tria. I think that since we got this story completely from his POV, that is a huge part of it. He really had a lot to deal with in this installment, and he had definitely hit rock bottom. But what I love about Liam is that he knew he had to turn his life around, and his love for Tria helped him to do what it took. He made a lot of progress here, even if it wasn't always quick or easy. Tria continued to drive me nuts, and this book was no exception. I will admit that she had every right to be wary of Liam after how he acted, but I also felt like she was really wishy washy here. She was a mess, and she continued to be whiny and weak and I just found myself unable to connect with her at all. I did feel more of a connection here between Liam and Tria than I had in the previous book, but I didn't like how one minute she was pushing him away and giving him steps to take to prove to her his commitment to being better and then the next she was a disaster and throwing herself at him while balling her eyes out. I just didn't really care for her, and unfortunately that never changed over the course of this series.

Overall, I think that there were some really good moments over the course of this series and in this book. But if I am being completely honest, this one was a bit of a disappointment for me. It was all over the place, and I just felt like there was too much going on while not enough was happening if that makes any sense. There was the weird community that Tria was from and all that drama, plus the fighting drama, then the family drama with Liam and the drug issues too. It was pretty random, and I felt like it needed to sort of pick something and stick with it. I did like Liam a lot though, even when he made mistakes and acted poorly. For awhile in the second book I was worried if that would be the case by the end, but I thought he really turned things around here. I don't know that I would read this had I known everything I do now, but I am glad that I finished it and found out how everything played out. The ending was satisfying, but this isn't one that I will probably remember or think about again.

This was most definitely a series that grew on my. I wasn't sure about Liam and Tria together when I finished the first book. But as book 2 and 3 took shape, there was an very large emotional journey to be taken and I couldn't put the last two books down.

Liam and Tria meet when he rescues her one night from some would be attackers on her way home from work. Liam scares Tria, just a little bit, but she feels safe with him. The first book focuses on the friendship that develops between Liam and Tria. We learn about her Tria's past and how she deals with her "family" and why she left.

As we moved into book two, the romantic relationship between Liam and Tria begins. They build their own little world in their little apartment, learning to love and trust one another. It's in this book where things start to turn. We knew Liam was running from monsters, but we begin to see just what those monsters are. And as we move into book three, we have to wonder if Liam is going to be strong enough to fight those monsters. Not only for himself, but also for Tria.

I loved book two and three. The emotional depth of these characters got me. There were times in book two where I wished someone would shake Liam, telling him to get his head out of his arse. But as book three rolled around, I wanted to hug him and tell it would be alright, despite knowing he had to take this journey for himself.

These were my first Shay Savage books and I have to say she had me hooked. The series may have started a little slow, but the pace picked up, emotionally captured my attention and made it very, very hard to put the books down.

This was more intense more powerful and too strong to invoke all kinds of feelings the characters are feeling! Every line, every chapter I read was an emotional journey for me. I could feel the pain radiating out of the book and I could connect to Liam and his each and every struggle he faced! He improved so much and all because of Tria!I was so scared with every struggle , problems he faced! I prayed that it ended good!! This book was surprising at every stage! You are just involved in it and can't get away from it!

If you can make it past the depressing beginning, this book is wonderful! Shay writes the kind of alphas that are a bit lost in the real world, but once they set their eyes on THEIR woman, nothing will change that obsessive trajectory.
"I think you might have gotten an extra dose of testosterone when God was handing that shit out."
The parts that I really loved might ruin the book, so I'll just say that the characters don't ever give up. Liam and Tria are adorable and so sweet together, I loved this book.
Honestly, the more time I spent in therapy, the more fucked up I felt.
Agreed Liam, and same...but I think that’s also called growth.

This definitely is a PERFECT ending to a series that's had me wrapped around its finger.

Once again, I reiterate that this series is UNIQUE. I never, for the life of me, can figure out where SHAY SAVAGE gets her ideas, but this book definitely came from somewhere that no one has ever been to before. It's awesome!

This book ties up the mysteries of Liam's life before it all started. I must say, even though I already expected a lot of it, I was still surprised by some things that happened here. I love how the book ended and I love everything about their relationship in the end. Yes, I wanted to bash Liam in the head many, many times, but I had to look past that and focus on him getting Tria back.

Tria definitely has more backbone here. She's more loyal and more fierce. I love how she protected Liam in her own way and I love how she was there for him after everything. She's a perfect mixture of strength and grace in times of pressure. She's amazing with Liam. I love how she understood him all the way. I WANT TO BE HER!!!

Both of these characters grew to be more than what I expected them to be. Liam learned the value of forgiveness and moving forward in life. Tria learned that she could trust in a person again and that she's not as unloved as she deemed to be.

I think what I love best about this book is that you'll see how they both appreciate what they have no matter how small it is.

Spoilers ahead so stop reading if you don't want to see this!!

As Liam came from a rich family, left it and then came back, you'd expect that he'll feel entitled to it all. But nope. He just appreciates that he could take more care of his family, but other than that.. nope. Not for personal gain. Tria is the same, so I love them both for it.

The ending part is worth the wait. Everything went as I wanted them to be. I love it! I love it so much!

All in all, this is a perfectly unique trilogy about fighting your battles head on, keeping the faith and pushing forward.

Just perfect!!!

This book is much more of a cathartic therapy session. Book 1 is the introduction, book 2 is the drama, and book 3 is the recovery. If you have ever known anyone with mental health issues, PTSD, or drug/alcohol problems, this book in particular will be very REAL for you. Its not always pretty, but I think Shay did an amazing job with keeping it real. The only real climax in this book comes from the "can he do it" aspect. While its not as climatic as the other books, its more beautiful in many ways because its the real, day to day stuff. I thought it was beautiful and it had me in tears many times because of how honest and real it was. (Ok, I have said 'real' a lot...sorry!)

AHHHHH THIS BOOK OMG! So freaking good, gahh Liam you awesome dude can you not?!

description

The final CAGED book is just as awesome as you'd think it would be and it is by far not just a fighting book, Tria and Liam's story has such depth and raw feeling in a familiar setting that it will surprise the readers with it's fresh take on the fighter gets the girl story.

Shay Savage can and has delivered an amazing story. I have said it and I will repeat myself she can write a male POV like few out there and Liam was just swoon-worthy!

After the last cliffhanger this took the story to a whole other level, not going to spoil but OMG it went beyond anything you can imagine. Liam and Tria find themselves in a weird state, their relationship is being tested by their past and the present (could I be any more cryptic? But honestly, it's better if you don't spoil your reading experience!) and everything is coming to light at last from Liam's past, we even meet his parents and there are so many sweet moments between all of these characters that have been building since the first one.

Tria is kickass, she's amazing and so not taking any of your bullshit in this one is refreshing to read a character that will not back down but won't also whiny and be over dramatic. No over the top drama here!

Allow me a moment to express my love for Krazy Katie ♥

And Liam's sass. So much sass! He is such a fascinating character to read it's crazy! He owns this book - yes Tria is cool but LIAM! - and you need to grab some tissues. Swoon worthy, tough, sexy as hell, the same sassy dirty Liam but with a softer side and just so freaking sweet it's a delight to read the Caged series ♥
