The same stories are repeated.  This book could have been 100 pages shorter.

i only finished this book because im too prideful to dnf it.

this man is an example of the bojack horseman archetype. he is stuck up on his time on friends and has not much else to show for afterward, he is a total misogynist, and ultimately he has not and will not take any sort of accountability for the shitty things he has done. everything is always someone else fault. uhhh okay???? he had every privilege in the world and was still like, "i'd rather be anyone else" please stop.

but i digress, since the review is not about the contents as much as it is about the writing. i will give him props for being so open and vulnerable to judgemental readers, like myself, about how shitty he is and how shitty his life decisions are. it must be difficult to bear the ugliness and the truth of addiction. the writing itself though is really repetitive and the tone is extremely sarcastic and even condescending?? idk what i was expecting tho. all in all, not worth the read.

I grew up watching Friends so when I saw this book being published I knew I had to read it.
It definitely gives you a deep understanding into the mind of an addict, and it can be hard to read at times which is a given for difficult topics.
In true Chandler Bing style, it wasn't all dark. There was a lot of humour throughout the entire book and I think it was balanced really well.
Towards the end the book starts repeating itself a lot (which can happen when the book is going between past and present every few chapters) but there was such repetition in the last couple chapters I thought I had accidentally re-read the same pages.
Overall I did enjoy the read

This is quite the memoir. It’s so interesting all that he’s been through. He’s right. He probably shouldn’t be alive. It would be a higher ranking but honestly, it seems like he still hasn’t truly learned all he could. I feel worse for everyone who came across his path than for him. But hey, maybe that’s just what honesty gets you. If you want to read about an unbelievable life, it’s a great memoir. I just want to root for the person writing it and that was a little tough.
