My second King book and certainly not my last. The writing was satisfying and it had the tension and emotion I enjoy from him.

I found the setting, pacing, and length to suit the story perfectly. It felt lonely, discomforting, and altogether an anxious account of events.

The characters were light on detail and not much development seemed to happen with them. I don’t know if that was deliberate, but it left me wanting for more to love/hate in them.

The plot itself was okay, a good and miserable tale. Like the characters, it felt hasty - almost as if the story itself was a passing daydream that never really fleshes out.

I enjoyed the way the story is written:
a confession written by a clearly broken man. Although, I found it hard to believe someone would continuously write a confession such as this, let alone with some sections forming simple exposition.

Overall, a good book, just not one I found difficult to put down.

CAWPILE of ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Read this book as part of The Losers Club Readathon for the buddy read
prompt.
Overall l enjoyed this read. Just ending by the way. I'm new to this kind of genre.
It does have some gruesome scenes and imagery. So would definitely consider checking trigger warnings before reading.
This is my first Stephen King’s short story and will continue to explore more of his works!
