It's rare that I love a sequel more than the first book. Insanely good, could not put it down. Very complex and informed views on the effects of colonialism.

Excellent follow up to The Unbroken - I'm much more invested in what happens next for the characters and I find the writing, character and world development to be improved as well. I'm very much looking forward to the next book in the series.

I think I liked this book a bit better than the first. I found the beginyto be super hard to get though, but I'm glad I kept reading. The writing is beautiful, the characters are well developed, and the was just about right for my liking.

Ilthe politics were almost a bit too much for me. I also found that the "I want her, no, I can't want her" was a bit much. I love yearning, but it was just a bit too repetitive.

I really love that this an adult series. The main characters have adult feelings and reactions. I've become really tired of reading romantacy that's clearly YA, even though it's not marked as YA. This is just a really well rounded mature story.

I think I would barely call this a fantasy however. The magic is almost non-existent in these worlds. The story really is more about politics.

A gripping story, complex and nuanced, The Unbroken picks up the pace and takes you on a wild ride through a world eerily similar to ours. The differences add just the right amount of extra flavor.
