1806, and Charles Murray has received the news that his father has been in an accident. Rushing to the Edinburgh family home and arrives just in time for a few words with his estranged father.
Dealing with his fathers' estate, fending off the parents of marriage daughters and the his stable boy is murdered and he begins to suspect that his fathers' death was no accident.
A very enjoyable read, a good mystery and some interesting characters.

These books just keep getting better and better. I had no idea who the culprit was in this book, I knew it had to be one of the characters we had come across but I could not decide on anyone.

I felt this book was set to a faster pace than the previous 2 but still retained the lovely period drama feel that I loved about the first 2.

I have heard even better things about the 4th book but I shall see for myself now I have finished this one.
